Before interpreting an instruction, know which product it belongs to. A photograph or family name rarely identifies every variant. This lesson teaches how to organise document references, without carrying out inspections, repairs or emergency procedures.
| Record | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer and model | Distinguishes the product within its family |
| Variant or version | Avoids applying a document to another system |
| Manual title and revision | Lets you return to the reference used |
| Origin and consultation date | Identifies the evidence and when it was checked |
Records and conclusions differ
A record can show that a document exists, an owner reported work or an invoice was received. It does not, by itself, establish the equipment’s current condition. Photographs and accounts can be useful but should retain their origin and verification status.
This distinction connects the manual to Owner Boats: a shared history should distinguish reported, documented and verified information. Model specifications do not change because an individual boat received different equipment. A lesson also has no need to publish personal serial identifiers or unnecessary contact details.
