In plain language

An aft cockpit places the outdoor steering area nearer the stern. A centre cockpit places it further forward. This may create space for a cabin behind, but internal access must be distinguished from access solely through the cockpit.

How to interpret it

Internal access, height, privacy and circulation are separate features. A quarter cabin beneath the cockpit does not automatically equal the aft cabin you have in mind.

Why it matters

For a family, separating sleeping spaces can be a useful priority.

Limitations

Available volume, cockpit height and length shape the compromises. No architecture is always superior.

In practice

In the Finder, you may prefer an aft cabin and require internal access. The system checks both attributes in the same configuration.
