An individual boat accumulates changes that a model specification cannot predict. A careful record explains what was installed, what was observed and who carried out or checked work. The lesson develops these relationships through a short fictional history without attributing real characteristics to a model.

Dates, component identification and the distinction between observation and conclusion make a history more useful than a vague improvements list. They also separate an existing document from its owner’s interpretation. This organisation can support care, professional conversations and future community sharing. Intervals, products, tests and acceptance criteria should come from documentation appropriate to the system and competent review.
